Protein Oatmeal That You'll LOVE!

So, like many other nutrition focused families, we tend to automate our breakfast more than any other meal we eat.  It's early, you've got places to be, and the last thing most people want to do is try and figure out how to make something nutritious for yourself and the family.

When we have places to go, we almost always grab the breakfast cookies.  Quick and easy and you can eat them in the car...

But on other mornings when we don't want to really cook, etc., we eat protein oatmeal!  The kids love it, and so do I!  Here's what we do:



Mix with a fork or whisk in microwave safe bowl:
1 packet of organic instant oatmeal
1 egg white
Enough milk to mix (I never measure!  If it's too dry when done cooking I just add more then.)

*Microwave the above for 90 seconds

Remove from microwave and add:
Splash of milk if needed
Few dashes of cinnamon
2 tsp or so of raw honey
Splash of real vanilla
A tsp or 2 of organic, sugar free jam or jelly (sometimes we also sub frozen berries, just add a handful to the oatmeal BEFORE microwaving!)

The end!  Super easy, delicious, and you've got your protein and your complex carbs all in one hearty bowl.  And I don't even love oatmeal, but I could eat this every day!
